Danish Kringles

Start the new year with an authentic taste of Denmark!  

There are several types of kringles in Denmark and we are offering two different flavors of kringle prepared with a traditional Danish milk dough. 

The first kringle offered is called a ¨vandkringle¨ or a brown sugar kringle with Danish vanilla custard. This kringle is made with a homemade brown sugar spread, cinnamon, and custard inside and is topped with a ring of custard on top. 

The second kringle is not one typically found in Denmark, since it is a homemade recipe, but would be called in Danish an ¨æblekanelkringle¨ or an apple cinnamon kringle. This kringle is made with a marzipan-butter filling, Danish custard, and apple-cinnamon compote inside and is topped with apple-cinnamon compote. Some say it reminds them of the holidays with the apple pie-like flavor profile. 

 

Both of these Danish pastries are topped with a sugar glaze and almond slices. These kringles are absolutely delicious and are very different from each other.
