Meet Maggie

My name is Maggie Nielson Huelke! I am 25 years old and I am both Danish and American. I am origionally from Utah and have lived there for most of my life. When I was 21 years old I decided to move to Denmark and become educated as a Danish baker through school and an aprenticeship in a Danish bakery. The full education to become a baker and a pastry chef in Denmark takes close to 6 years; I have only completed 2 of those school years (which includes the majority of the science behind baking), but I have learned so much that I would like to start to share my knowledge and expertise with others! I am so excited to have this website and eventually a blog to be the sources for others to access everything I have learned over these past years of schooling, working, and experimenting in both Denmark and America. 

This website is a work in progress, I am still learning, and I am not perfect. Do feel free to suggest any ways of improvement or to share any knowledge that you have on my contact page!

I am actively working on more recipes to post on this website in both Danish and English. Stay tuned for more authentic and delicious recipes! 😊

Professional Experience

I worked my first 2 years in a very traditional Danish Bakery called Ejby Bageri.

I then worked as an assistant baker at a catering company called Bare God Mad.

I am currently baking as a home baker and stay at home mom in Apple Valley, Utah. 

The baking school I am educated through is called ZBC (Zealand Bussiness College) located in Ringsted, Denmark.
